On-site Irish Pub

Finnegan’s Snug is the St. Francis Inn’s newest on-property gathering place. It’s an intimate Irish-style pub created exclusively for guests of the St. Francis Inn, Casa de Sueños, and the San Sebastian River Houses. Tucked inside The St. Francis Inn, The Snug is a quiet corner inspired by the cherished tradition of Irish pubs. It’s where good spirits, warm conversation, and unhurried moments are always encouraged.

Whether you’re winding down after a day in historic St. Augustine or settling in for an evening among friends, we invite you to relax, linger, and feel at home.

A Modern Take on a Historic Irish Tradition in St. Augustine

One thing always rings true about the Irish (or, Irish Americans): we’ve nailed hospitality, especially when it comes to cozy bar spaces! We can thank our ancestors for creating Snugs in their traditional pubs. A Snug is a small space (usually a booth or table) near the bar that allowed women, and sometimes the wealthy, to drink in a less conspicuous and more private way.

Finnegan’s Snug, located on the back deck of the St. Francis Inn, was created to offer another unique space for our guests to enjoy a drink, conversation, and each other. We hope you’ll join us! The Snug is not part of the Inn’s complimentary guest amenities, but it’s a great place for our guests to explore a deeper, more robust drink in a relaxed bar setting.

Seating by the firepit for cooler evenings and a TV for guests who want to catch a game.

With seating at the bar, tables inside, and additional seating on the outdoor deck, Finnegan’s Snug also features a firepit for cooler evenings and a TV for guests who want to catch a game without heading into town.

The Snug is currently open Friday and Saturday evenings. Hours are based on guest occupancy. Patrick Finnegan and longtime Inn manager Mary are often behind the bar, adding a personal, welcoming touch that reflects the hospitality guests have come to expect at the St. Francis Inn.

On your next stay, be sure to make time to pull up a chair, enjoy a thoughtfully poured drink, and experience one of the Inn’s newest guest-only offerings.
